“And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward” Exodus 14:15, NKJV.
“I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” Philippians 3:14, NKJV.
Don’t stay in the place of what I call the “In Between.” This is the place of indecision. It is the place we wrestle with staying where we are in life and doing what God wants us to do to reach our Promised Land.
Israel had this same dilemma as they made their exodus from Egypt into their promised land. While escaping, they arrived at the Red Sea, and it appeared they couldn’t go any farther. Their enemy was behind them, the Red Sea in front of them, and they knew they couldn’t stay where they were. Stuck in between, Israel faced a life-changing moment of decision at the Red Sea. God told them to go forward. Moses obeyed God, and the Red Sea split miraculously before them, and they continued to their Promised Land.
You may be at your own Red Sea. The thoughts of wondering what God is telling you to do work, whether they will respond, whether you are equipped, are you enough, how you will get the resources, and you have no clue what you are doing will surely come. Your Red Sea will split before you, obstacles will move, doors will open, you will see the favor of God, and what appeared impossible with man is possible with God.
You can’t stay where you are. Do what God has called you to do. Go forward.
Prayer: Father, thank you. I know you are telling me to move forward. Thank you for being with me. I can’t stay here any longer. Help me to obey and not fear. Help me remember it is for you and others to know Jesus. I will do what you have called me to do. Today I say yes, I will go forward! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
