“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new, for he says, ‘The old is better.’ ”” Luke 5:37-39, NKJV.
What do you do when your old is gone? You build something new. Don’t build it back the same—build something new, stronger, better.
If anything old in your life is being removed, let it go so the new can come. Let God deal with you and strip it away. Make the transition and make the shifts the Lord is revealing to make in your life. A humble man will always become a new man. He is waking you up early for a reason. Like tapping on your shoulder, His Spirit is tapping on your heart for a reason. There is great reward on the other side of your obedience, but the devil wants to keep distracting you from it. Jesus is showing up and is here to do a new thing. Yield to what’s new. It’s time to get stronger. Better.
Prayer: Father, I praise you! Take me from old to new. Holy Spirit, I hear you speaking to me. Help me humble myself to your unctions, like tapping on my shoulder and recognize it’s you. It’s Jesus calling me into something new. The new man. Help me not to get distracted but stay diligent with moving from the old to the new in my life. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray, Amen!
