Choose to Love Her

“Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.” Colossians 3:19, NKJV.

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12, NKJV.

I choose to love my wife. I am not saying that my wife does everything right. I’m not saying I do everything right either. Yet, I have made a decision to love her and she has made a decision to love me, and it ultimately gets us through the tough moments in marriage.

When you choose to love them, it demands a certain response. If you love God, you keep His commandments. If you love your spouse, forgive them. You’ll be patient and kind. If you love them, choose to do the things for them that you would desire them to do for you. Choose to love your spouse, not only when you walked down the aisle and you both looked like you could say or do not wrong. Decide to love them not only on that day but every day.

It’s your choice to continue to love each other that will get you through from where you are, to where God desires your marriage to be.

Prayer: Father, I give You all the glory and all the praise this morning. Thank You Jesus for being my Savior and Lord. Help me Father to choose to love my spouse each day. Get us through this tough moment by walking in Your unconditional love. Right now, I choose to love them. May You be glorified in our marriage and I thank You for getting our marriage to where you desire it to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Challenge: Read 1 Corinthians 13 with your wife.
