“But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her” Luke 10:40-42, NKJV.
You know that turmoil on your job, it’s a distraction. The thoughts the enemy is trying to occupy your mind and time with, it’s a distraction. What’s been suddenly presented to you appears to be a good idea, but you discern something isn’t right, it’s a distraction. They come in different ways, but if you take a moment to pray and look closer, you’ll see it for what it is. Be careful not to allow the distraction to take your focus off of the Lord and your growth in Him. Be careful not to allow something to move you from the vision God already gave you. The devil wants to cause the perfect will of God to pass right by. He wants the timing of God to pass right by. The distraction can cause you to miss the opportunity, the open door before you. Keep listening and moving with His Spirit. Stay with God’s plan and directions for your year.
Don’t get distracted.
Prayer: Father, thank you, thank you, thank you for the reminder not to get distracted. Help me to recognize them when they come. Like Mary, I will keep my focus on you. I will stay focused on putting all my efforts into what you’ve already told me to do. Help us as men to be keen and walk in wisdom from the Holy Spirit. I declare I’m empowered to navigate through any situation the enemy presents. I’m pressing forward and will not be distracted. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
