“Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver…Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house” 1 Chronicles 29:2-3, KJV.
David prepared with all of his might to aid his son in building God’s house. He encouraged the people to give and they willingly did. He gave more out of his own goods than what was gathered to build God a house. It lets us know David’s ambition, his drive to be successful, was intense toward completing this holy work.
You are valuable and you have much to offer. God made you great. Even when you don’t feel like it, you are still who He says you are. Yes, you’re not perfect but He didn’t ask you to be, and you won’t be. He still called you. You are called to complete a holy work and you are equipped to do it, yet your ambition, your drive, is what the devil wants to be dormant. He doesn’t want your ambition and confidence to catch on fire. A man of ambition will climb high and dig deep to do what is in his heart. A man of ambition will pull away from his past, to God’s success ahead. A man of ambition will start with whatever God has put in his hands right now and build something.
Make any adjustments needed and ask God to make you a driven man, because you are needed, what God put in you is needed right now.
Prayer: Father, thank You for Your Word. I set my affection on You. Examine me and my drive toward the work You have called me to. Whether deep down I don’t believe or I’m afraid, deal with my heart Lord. Build my ambition, Lord. Set me on fire! Make me a man of ambition. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
