“For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness” Romans 4:3, NKJV.

“But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption” 1 Corinthians 1:30, NKJV.

Abraham wasn’t perfect at all. He lied about his wife being his sister. He slept with his wife’s handmaid. Yet, he chose to believe, and the Father accounted his faith as righteousness. Because he didn’t allow his shortcomings to hinder his obedience, he walked in God’s purpose for his life becoming the father of faith and of many nations.

The Father doesn’t just know your strengths, but He knew your flaws, the mistakes, the failures, wrong turns, and everything else about you and your life. He knew all of you and He still called all of you. You’re not perfect, but Jesus is your complete perfection. The Father isn’t asking you to be perfect before He can use you. He’s asking for your faith in Him to show Himself strong even in your weaknesses. We are like cups with a hole at the bottom, but in Christ, God uses us to carry water to thirsty souls.

You don’t want to miss what God has for you. He loves you. He had a great plan for Abraham and He has a great plan for you. Don’t allow your imperfections to keep you from obeying God.

Prayer: Father, thank You that I am washed and made new in Christ. I am made perfect, not by my works, but through faith in You. Help me to let you can’t use me, flaws and all. May I glory in weaknesses instead so You can show Yourself strong. I don’t have to be perfect to obey You. I receive Your love today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
