“But the angel answered and said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said…And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice! So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him” Matthew 28:5-6& 9, NKJV.

Jesus Himself said rejoice! Death could not hold him, and the grave could not stop him. He did just what He said. Jesus is now sitted in heavenly places and you are now a joint heir, seated with Him (Ephesians 2:6).

Jesus conquered then so that you can conquer now. His rising means sin and death and all that comes with it–guilt, condemnation, bondage, shame, past sorrows, and defeat–have been swallowed up in victory. He paid the ultimate price for your ultimate redemption. You can now freely rejoice.

He will always do what He said in your life. Let it be a joyful reminder that if Jesus rose from the dead, you can rise from anything! Nothing can truly hold you down. Nothing can truly stop you. You are forever victorious.

Prayer: Father, I give you all the glory. Thank you, Jesus! I rejoice because you conquered the grave! You defeated sin and death. Help me to remember that today I was made alive and I reign just like you. I am victorious just like you. Help me to always remember that death cannot hold you down, and nothing can keep me down either. You will do what you said you will do in my life. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
