Thankful for Jesus

November 23, 2017

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8, NKJV.

Many things may be going well in your life, and from friends to family, there is so much to thank God for. Yet, the most important thing you can be thankful for is your Savior.

Jesus told the disciples rejoice because your name is written in heaven. Rejoice, celebrate and be thankful that Jesus redeemed you and the debt of sin is eternally paid. Every one of them have been blotted out, never to be known in connection to you again. When God sees you, He sees you as righteous in Christ Jesus before Him.

Jesus opened the door of salvation and you freely walked through it. Also because he rose, you rose too and you realize the blessings have been countless since he’s been in your life. How many times has God come through for you this year? When did He not provide? How many times did He blow your mind with His goodness and favor on your life? You can be thankful that through Christ you have a life that overflows with God, with His promises and with victory.

Know the things you’re thankful for, but most of all, know Who you’re thankful for and Who is responsible for it all. Thank God for giving you a Savior today. No matter what you have, when you remember what you have in Jesus, it always puts every single thing in perspective.

Prayer: Father, I can give thanks for many things, but above all, thank You for sending your son to take my place. I thank You for giving Your son for me. Thank you Jesus for my salvation. You are the source of my joy and every good thing in my life. I have what I have, all the family and friends that I’ve been blessed with because of you. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
