Thank Mom For Being There

May 10, 2020

“Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home. John 19:25-27, NKJV.

Even while Jesus was on the cross, enduring all manner of agony and pain, Mary was there. Mom never left His side. She gave birth to Him, raised Him, and helped Him throughout His life. Now, when her son needed her the most, mom was there.

When you needed her the most, your mom or someone like a mother to you, was there. God made mom as a masterpiece of strength. Aside from Him, He created her to help you in life in every way. Through your pain, through your successes, through your mistakes and disappointments, through your trouble, through the times you needed prayer, mom has always been there. She has been so influential to you, so special to you. Your mother may have passed away, but she is still there helping you.

As Jesus instructed His disciples to do for His mother, be there for her–your wife and your mom. Take the time to always act on your appreciation for them. Thank them for all they have done for you. Without your wife, your children wouldn’t be here. Without your mom, you wouldn’t be here. They deserve your honor, appreciation, and care for them not just today, but at all times.

Prayer: Father, I praise You and thank You for my Mother, especially today. I love and honor her. She has been there for me. I will take care of her. Help me to always be there for her–for my wife and my mom. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!
