Moments of Transitions

May 29, 2018

“Being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry. Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time” Luke 4:2-3, & 13, NKJV.

When Jesus was being born into the earth, the devil pursued to stop his coming. When Jesus was exiting the wilderness and entering into his ministry, the very thing he was called to do, the devil came while he was hungry and tempted him. One thing you will find in scripture is that the devil watches for and attacks during very important moments of transitions.

When I look back on all the moments of transitions in my own life, the devil pursued to keep me from making them. During those times, you want to especially walk close with the Lord, receive His plan and be very diligent to follow it. As you are walking with Him, the Holy Spirit will show you things to come. He will reveal things to you about your new transition and what you are entering into. Those are the times to be watchful for any subtle trickery or scheme from the wicked one to derail you from God’s will to be blessed and advance the kingdom.

Also practically as a father, when you notice your children entering into key moments of transitions in their lives, be there to share with them what is to come, and pour into them the godly wisdom and insight they need. Whether it’s the change from high school to college, college to finding their purpose, or singleness to marriage, these are especially the times to not be ignorant of Satan’s devices, and to watch over them to help them successfully through it.

Prayer: Father, thank You for this insight about moments of transitions. Let me follow Your plan and not be ignorant of the devil’s devices. Holy Spirit show me what is to come for myself and my family. I will lay hold of your blessings and advance the kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
