Just want to please Him

April 27, 2019

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory. No good thing will he withhold from those who walk uprightly” Psalm 84:11, NKJV.

“Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours? The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing” 1 Kings 3:9-10, NKJV.

I’m proud of our children already, but I am so godly proud of them when they desire to do what’s right and ask for what’s right. No one is looking, or they aren’t after a reward. As a father, it fills my heart with thanksgiving to God.

I know if I feel this way, how much more our heavenly Father. It makes the Father proud when He sees you do what’s right when no one is looking, not to get something, but because you just want to please Him. The Father is proud when He sees you do what’s right and ask for what’s right. He’s proud when He sees you decide to love. The Father is proud when you ask of Him with clean motives. He is pleased when you desire to walk upright and walk by faith in Him.

Walk upright and ask of Him in an upright way. Like Solomon, who God blessed with riches and honor also, He will even bless you with what you didn’t ask for.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for giving me Jesus. I know I am already righteous through him. You are already proud of me. Help me to walk uprightly and ask of You uprightly. May You smile even more from heaven as You see me choose what’s right, ask for what’s right and please You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
