I Want To Be Happy

November 11, 2018

“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” Psalm 34:8, NKJV.

In Atlanta, Georgia, one of the major highways is 285. It is literally a massive circle around the city, which can lead you to anywhere you need to go. Yet, if you don’t get off 285, you will eventually end up right back where you started.

True fulfillment and happiness isn’t found where it may appear to be. It may seem for a man as if it’s found in riches, women, a position of prestige, but eventually, you find like 285 you are right back where you started–unfulfilled and unhappy. Even as a godly man, if you’re not careful, you can find yourself going around in this same circle in one area or another. It can be frustrating to want something to work, that wasn’t ever meant to be.

True happiness is not meant to be found in creation, but in the Creator. It is found in knowing Christ. The Bible says blessed, or “How happy!”, is the man that has decided to hear what the Lord has to say, abide by it, and then, discovers that He really is that good! He really will give you the desires of your heart when you delight in Him. Taste and see that He will cause you to arrive at His destination for your life, and will also help you be truly happy with yourself.

Prayer: Father, I turn to You. How happy I am when I put my trust in You! Show me Jesus what I have in you. Help me to believe that Your ways will make me happy. Help me to have faith that you really are good. You have the sure blueprint to happiness. Have Your way in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Study: Psalm 23:6, 118:1, 139:14: 1 Timothy 6:17
