God didn’t give you a spirit of fear.

March 17, 2020

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” 2 Timothy 1:7, NKJV.

God didn’t give you a spirit of fear. He didn’t give you the worry, the doubt, the unbelief, and the torment that comes from that spirit. The key is recognizing it when it comes, and identify it operating in your life.

You can be living according to fear and not even realize it. Fear can be disguised and subtle. When a decision needs to be made, when something happens, when you question who you are and your self-esteem, what people think about you, when you consider a challenge and the possibilities ahead of you, your response is one of stress, doubt, a worried mind, and pessimism, rather than one of love and faith. Call out that spirit. That is fear, not love, and God didn’t give it to you!

God has given you a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. No matter what you encounter, you can walk in love, confidence and according to the freedom Jesus has given you. You have been given everything you need to respond like God and accomplish His will for your life.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your Word. Help me to recognize when fear is trying to operate in my life. With every thought and concern, I will call fear out. I have been given a spirit of love, power and a sound mind. Through Christ, I will walk in the power of Your love and by the faith I put in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
