Don’t Look Back

October 6, 2017

“But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt” Genesis 19:26, KJV.

We are in the last days and destruction is happening all around us. Just as Sodom and Gomorrah was falling, so is this world. It is a hard reality, but it is true. Yet, just as God gave Lot and his family a warning, so He is giving us in this very hour.

We’ve been brought out of the world, saved through Christ Jesus, and God has a blessed life for us in store. Now, let’s not look back to a world that God is judging and that is crumbling. As men, let’ not turn back to the darkness of sin and rebellion. Let’s not be snared with the deceitfulness of the riches this world, how how much you can acquire, bigger houses, and things. There’s nothing wrong with having things, yet they shouldn’t be what we absolutely live for and what we worship.

Like Lot’s wife, God doesn’t want our testimony to be that we physically left the city, which was great, but we didn’t make it to the Lord’s destination for our lives either. Maybe you are saved and you may even go to church, but in you there’s a desire and love for this world, and that desire for the world system keeps you from obeying God and completely fulfilling your calling.

Set your affection on the kingdom of God. Go with everything you’ve got toward the place in life that the Lord is calling you to and don’t look back.

Prayer: Father, I will worship You and You alone. You’re telling me to not look back and I hear Your voice. If there’s any desire and love in me for this world, I repent and I ask that You take it from me. I will look to You and pursue Your calling for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
