Don’t Fret Today. Pray.

August 26, 2018

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6-7 NIVUK.

Paul wrote this text to the Philippians from a prison cell. It shows how amazing it is that you can have peace, even under such circumstances when we decide not to fret, but pray.

Naturally, it’s being a man to try to solve problems ourselves. We also try to decide and rule over the outcome. I have been guilty of fretting, trying to rule over my own life and solve it myself. Yet when we don’t pray, we are simply showing God that we are not depending on Him, when the truth is He is all and everything we need.

As men of God we must come into the habit of having a prayerful life. He wants it to be natural for us to bring everything to Him in prayer, no matter what it is, and not fret. We let Him solve it, let Him decide and let Him rule over the outcome, trusting in Him. Don’t spend your day fretting. Give it to God and get some peace. Pray and thank Him that you have already received what you have asked for because He will provide.

Starting today, be an ocean of calm and pray about it. The fruit of every prayer is joy, peace and His perfect will being done in you.

Prayer: Father God. Thank you for Your ever-abounding mercy and great kindness. I don’t have to fret. I won’t spend this whole day in worry. Thank you that You always hear me and that You will answer. As I pray with thanksgiving, I receive Your joy and peace. Let Your perfect will being done in my life. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
