Are you willing to let her go?

March 13, 2017

“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead” Philippians 3:13, ESV.

While holding onto a woman that I had met in college, God asked me these words while attending a Bible Study. He said, “Are you willing to let her go to follow Me?” He was saying seek after Me and I want you to receive what I have for you. I responded, “yes”. She was a good woman, but she wasn’t God’s best for me. I had to make a decision and once I let her go, I met my wife months later. I knew that there was something different about her and felt God telling me “This is what I have for you.” What a blessing it is to receive into your life God’s best, but I first had to let go of what I had.

If you’re waiting for the right woman to come into your life that you’ve been praying for God to bless you with, ask yourself if whether you’re still holding on to someone else. You won’t be able to receive the one God has for you until you first let her go. Let go and position yourself spiritually, physically, mentally, and financially for your future wife.

Prayer: Father God, You know what’s best for me. If the person I’m with right now is not the woman I’m to marry, show me how to let her go and position myself for who You have for me. Break every soul tie and grow me up. Prosper my heart and prosper me financially so I can be prepared to take care of my future wife and children. In Jesus name, Amen.
