“John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire” Luke 3:16, NKJV.
When Jesus rose from the dead and returned to heaven, He left, but He didn’t leave His disciples alone. The first thing He did was give them the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8 & 2:1-4). He gave them fire. The first thing God says He wants you to know to begin this year is that you have the Holy Ghost. You have fire. I declare the fire of the Holy Spirit be upon you. Fire to run. Fire for focus. Fire for dominion. Fire for praise! Fire that sets you free and sets your course for this new year. Fire to burn in the midst of any adversity. In this year of more, receive more fire for you.
Prayer: Father, thank You for this year of more and Your way. By the Holy Spirit, I receive fire! More fire than I have ever experienced. I can’t do anything without Your Spirit. May Your fire fill me, change me, change my praise, and set me on fire to run for You. Bless those who need Your Spirit, who need fire, to receive the baptism of Your Spirit today and change their lives and set the course of their year. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
