“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9, KJV.
This wasn’t the first time God had spoken this word of encouragement to Joshua. Prior to this, Moses declared the word of The Lord to all of Israel in Deuteronomy 31:6, and then spoke directly to Joshua in verse 7, “And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.” This wasn’t a new word. God was repeating Himself.
What have you been hearing God say to you again? What has God had someone tell you at several points in your life, and now He has reminded you of that same word? Like Joshua, what is God commanding you to be? He will remind us, and say some things again that He has already said for our benefit. It will keep us focused, strong in faith, and encouraged.
Draw your line in the stand, and receive, act on and apply His reminders in your life. Joshua did and entered in. To enter in, God says you must do the same.
Prayer: Father God, I thank You for speaking to me. I choose to follow You and obey what You have repeatedly said to receive and act on. I submit to Your will. Be glorified in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
