“Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever!” Psalm 106:1, Amplified.
“Surely goodness and mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life…” Psalm 23:6a, Amplified.
The Lord wants us as His people to receive a steady dose that He is good. This is the character of your Heavenly Father. If He was good before, He will be good again. Your past isn’t all the goodness you are ordained to see, but He will be good to you today, and He will be good to you in the days to come.
This is why the psalmist declares to keep thanksgiving on your lips and His praise in your heart. This understanding that He’s good will keep your heart and mind. You’ll dismiss the wicked one with your praise because you know you shall see God’s goodness and mercy in your life. It follows you wherever you go, and just when it seems like the devil will win, the Lord shows Himself strong toward us with goodness in His hands.
Prayer: Father, You are good! Because You are good, I praise You, Lord, and thank You! Your love abounds toward me! You have been good to me and will continue to be good to me. Help me to anticipate Your goodness in my life. Let my faith stand on this mighty truth. You will bless me. You will provide. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
