“For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure†Philippians 2:13, Amplified.
The reality is that change is a part of life. The right type of change is a good thing. God’s type of change only takes us higher and helps us grow into the likeness of Christ. Jesus is coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle, so He washes us with His word and changes us.
When God begins to knock on the door regarding a shift in your life, or of an area in your life to improve, He isn’t taking something from you. He’s trying to get something to you. It may not feel good, but it’s good for you. When His Spirit begins to reveal and give you a longing to see something different in you and to reach for new levels in your life, that usually means it’s time for a change. To receive something different, we have to become different, and it’s about us accepting that. The key is being teachable to God at that juncture of your life.
Let go and be encouraged to have a willingness to change. To experience something new requires a change in you.
Prayer: Father, I praise you for helping me change. As you reveal and confront qualities and areas in me that need to change, help me to receive it and be teachable to you. Help me be strong and not fear. Work in me Holy Spirit the will and to do your good pleasure. I desire to be everything you have called me to be. Jesus’ name, Amen!
