“Therefore David inquired again of God, and God said to him, ‘You shall not go up after them; circle around them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. And it shall be, when you hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.” 1 Chronicles 14:14-15, NKJV.
King David inquired of the Lord twice with fighting the Philistines, and God gave him detailed instructions regarding each of those decisions before him. David did nothing more and nothing less than what God told him, and he won each battle.
When you ask God what you should do regarding a decision or challenge before you, God will not only show you what to do but when and how to do it. When He does, do nothing more and nothing less than what He says and you will win every battle.
Success is in the details. Victory is in the details. If God says, take two steps and then turn, then do that. If He leads you to enjoy yourself, and go on a short vacation, don’t take a long one. The Holy Spirit is our awesome Helper. It is up to us to slow down, listen to His leading each step of the way, and do nothing more, nothing less.
Prayer: Father, I praise you! You know what’s best for me. As I seek you regarding the decisions before me or when I face anything, show me exactly how to handle them. Teach me to slow down, listen and do nothing more and nothing less than what you say. I thank you that I am blessed and victorious! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
