He will give you your real desire.

“Then Abram said, ‘Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed, one born in my house is my heir!’ And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, ‘This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.’ Then He brought him outside and said, ‘Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.’ And He said to him, ‘So shall your descendants be.’ Genesis 15:3-4, NKJV.

Abram had long desired a son. Yet, when he told God he had an heir already in the house, the Lord responded, “No, that’s not going to be your heir. You will have your own son to be your heir. I’m going to give it to you.” Sometimes, when we look at our lives, conditions, and age, we wonder if we will truly receive what we desire. Will God really give it to you? You may feel like Abram, where you have already looked and accepted an alternative, something second to what you desire. But like God’s response to Abram’s real desire, so is God’s saying to you. He’s going to give it to you.

God is your great and exceeding reward, and in His will for you, in His timing, His best will meet your desire. Don’t accept the easy alternative. Don’t stop believing. Abram received not only his very own heir but also heirs as countless as the stars that couldn’t be numbered. God does care about your desire, and He wants you to delight in Him, receiving by faith that He’s not only going to give it to you, but it will be more than what you could ask or think.

Prayer: Father, you know what my real, pure desire is. Forgive me if I’ve secretly given up or settled. You will give me what I desire and more because I delight myself in you. I get right back in faith, and like Abram, I will believe what you’ve told me. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
