“Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, “Have I also here seen Him who sees me?” Genesis 16:13, nKJV
God had seen the servant Hagar’s plight. Today, God wants you to know that, no matter what you’re going through, God sees you. He sees your struggle. He sees you in the valley. He sees you on the mountaintop. He’s completely aware of what you’re experiencing. And if God sees you, you can trust His plan is always to do something about it. Hagar was being treated unfairly. All she was doing was what she was told to do, and got treated harshly for doing it. We can see her pain. We know if we can see others’ pain, we can know that definitely God can see it. In this Scripture, He wanted to emphasize that He knows and that He sees us right where we are. So, He made sure to give us His name, El-Roi. Brother, God sees you when you cry. He sees you, your wife, and your children. He has a high view of our lives. He also sees what would be and what you’re going to do. As He did with Hagar, He saw her and shared with her what the end would be. He sees what He will bring to pass. He will make it known to.
Embrace that God sees you. Decide to listen to God and hear what He sees. As you pray, God will help you see what He sees, and it will help you make different decisions. He will give you a new perspective as you see what He sees. You don’t have to make rash decisions. When you see what He sees, you can go and do what God told you to do. As with Hagar, she tried to run away from the situation. But God saw her. He knew what she’d went through. He knows and He will help you not run away but trust Him. He sees your expected end. He sees your blessing. He sees how He will work it out for your good. You serve a good God who sees.
Prayer. Father God, you are El-Roi, theGod who sees. I thank you for seeing me right now. You care about every experience,. You care about my moments. You see where I am. You see my heart. You know I’m trying. Trying to do my best. Trying to get better. Thank you for seeing me right now. You let me know that you really care and I’m encouraged today. I won’t throw in a towel. I won’t run away from it. I will do what you tell me to do because you’re the God who sees. Thank you, Lord for giving me wisdom right now and working everything out for my good and your glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
