“Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament! Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!” Psalms 150:1-2 NKJV.
Praise has different meanings in scripture, and there’s a description of ways to praise God. Praise here means in Hebrew “halal,” which means to shine, boast, make a show, be clamorously and foolish, to celebrate. When your favorite football team scores and wins, how do you respond? You would cheer and shout like you lost your mind! How much more for God Who has showed up and showed out in your life! He says we halal God. Praise be a reminder that Jesus won it all for you. Sin and the devil have no victory. We make a show of Him. We make our boast in Him. We are glamorously foolish and celebrate our God!
If you can immediately leave your comfort zone for a game, you can do it for God! Jesus was on the field of your life and won it all for you. God is on the field of your life, working on you and your behalf. You can get foolish for God! This is what a man needs sometimes to stoke your fire. This is what a man needs sometimes for his breakthrough.
Prayer: Father, I praise you! I take a moment and shout Hallelujah! Hallelujah! I boast on you! I exalt you! You are my God in who I trust!! I will praise you like your word says. Help me never to be ashamed to praise you how you say to praise you. I will mightily halal you, and I have great joy today! No matter what I go through, I’m reminded you won it all for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
