Father, I don’t want loose eyes.

“Now Samson went down to Timnah, and saw a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines. So he went up and told his father and mother, saying, “I have seen a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines; now therefore, get her for me as a wife””Judges‬ ‭14‬:‭1-2, NKJV‬‬

I know my brother, but don’t let your eyes roam. You think you can handle until it shows up in your heart in your bed at night. Samson saw and it turned him from the will of God for his life.

You’re not being vigilant just for the moment, but you’re protecting your heart from thoughts toward another woman that you should only have for your wife. The devil will use it as a way to slowly turn your heart and adoration for your wife. He will invite you, your flesh will invite you, to stare at a woman as she walks by, but she’s not in God’s will for you. I experience a lot and found it’s a trap that begins with a man’s loose eyes, instead of yielding to the fruit of the Spirit of self-control.

Be diligent about keeping your eyes on Christ and keeping your eyes on the wife God blessed you with. You can look at her all day long. If you want your grass greener, water it, my brother. But beware of loose eyes.

If you’re single, keeping your eyes will keep you from sin. Be a light to women as a man that protects them, not looks at them. If you show a woman you respect her and don’t want to see her like that, she won’t dress like that.

Prayer: Father, thank you! I don’t need to play around with this. Help me not to have loose eyes. I repent for looking at any woman in a way that doesn’t please you. She’s your daughter. Any woman that I’ve looked at in a lustful way, any images that come in my mind or phone, I take those thoughts captive now to the obedience of Christ. I will only have eyes for my wife or my wife to be. I want to be a light to women as a man that protects them, not looks at them. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
