“Then Jesus said to them, When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him” John 8:28-29, NKJV.
Jesus said of himself he can do nothing. He didn’t seek to do anything except what he located was the will of Father. If Jesus took this approach to his life, so should we. In any given situation, what a valuable piece of wisdom to abide by.
Take on a posture in your life that you seek the will of God, and that is what will be your decision. That will be what you hope, rest, and have confidence in. If you don’t know, you don’t go until you hear God telling you to. What will you do about this situation? Whatever God’s will is to do. Do not listen and do anything on your own, but only what you know is his will for you. You’ll triumph every time.
Prayer: Father, I give you all the praise. You are everything I need to triumph in life. Your will is all I need. No matter the decision, help the posture of my life to be like Jesus. I do nothing on my own, and I seek your will. If I don’t know, I don’t go–unless it’s your will. Help me hear you, even now, with what I face. My victory is in your will. Jesus’ name, Amen.
