“But He gives more grace. Therefore
He says: ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble’”James 4:6, NKJV.
When you wake up in the morning, one way to begin your day is to acknowledge in prayer that you can’t do it. It’s humbling to not only say you can’t but to honestly realize it. You can’t live right on your own. You have no godly strength to overcome on your own. There’s nothing good you can do or become by yourself.
This humility swings the door wide open for the grace of God to operate in your life. It causes the grace of God to be poured out to you, as God sees a humble man who truly needs and desires Him to be a part of his life. You will witness an Almighty God meet your need with detail. He will respond to your humility with grace, weakness with strength, and questions with answers. This kind of approach in prayer, not eloquent words, is what God will always respond to.
Prayer: Father, as I begin my day praying, I acknowledge that I can’t do this without you. I can’t. You are all I need. I ask that you respond to my humility with an outpouring of Your grace. Holy Spirit, rest upon me and give me the strength to do what I can’t do. Let your love, wisdom, and power reign in and through me today. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
