The God who restores you.

“Oh, that I were as in the months of old, as in the days when God watched over me” Job 29:2, ESV.

“And the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning…” Job 42:12 ESV.

Job reminisced about the past. He went there. He went back to how life was before his challenges and losses came. He went back, for a moment, to how everything was flourishing, how he had it all, and there was no lack. He wanted those times back. But he trusted the Lord and Job’s latter was better, far better, far sweeter, even double, than what He had.

Your heavenly Father is a Restorer.

Leave the past where it is. Yes, it felt perfect. Yes, you had it all. Yes, it was marvelous and you couldn’t any wrong. But you can’t live there. You have to let it go. You can’t keep your heart and mind always reminiscing about what you had, when there are great days ahead, even in front of you.

God is a good God and He restores in mighty ways for those that put their trust in Him. God can do what seems impossible and it doesn’t have to take Him long–trust His timing. Let your place be to do what He says, keep following Jesus forward, excited to know that your latter be greater. He’s going to make it even sweeter, even better than what you had.

Prayer: Father, thank You for being my Restorer. I have had some seemingly setbacks in my life, but You you will make it far better than before. Today, let go of always reminiscing about what’s behind me. You are a great in my eyes. My latter will be greater because of the God Who restores! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
