“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” 1 Thessalonians 5:18, NKJV.
I woke up this morning and took a nice, hot shower. The water was just right. As I stood there, I was reminded there are a lot of people who only have cold water to bathe in. There are people who have no water and can’t experience a small thing like this. I then began overflowing with thanks for all the things I’m blessed with that I was soberly and humbly reminded to not take for granted.
Begin your day thanking God for the small things. On purpose, thank Him that you woke up and you have shelter. Your mind and heart are working, and both are turned toward the Lord. It may not be in the best car but thank Him that you have transportation to work. Whatever you find, it may be small, but they all will add up to make the biggest difference in your life. The small things will keep you humble, give you joy, and surprisingly keep you free.
Prayer: Father, I praise you! I thank you for the small things today. I will bless you for everything I have. I will not complain or take these small things for granted. I will feel entitled, either. You are good and faithful, and today, may joy and peace overflow because I am grateful for the small things. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
