“He said to them, “I watched Satan fall from heaven like [a flash of] lightning. Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on [serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you” Luke 10:18-19, Amplified.

“Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour” 1 Peter 5:8, Amplified.

The Lord has given us the power to tread upon scorpions and serpents, symbolic of demonic spirits. We tread upon all the evil works of the devil, all of his plots, and all over his entrapments. God has pulled the plug on all of the devil’s plans and schemes, and they have no power. The weapon may become formed, but it cannot prosper. It won’t work. He may try to rise against you, but he has no power against you. Since he has no power against you, he has no victory over you.

You can rise up and say no, I will tread over the devil’s scheme to divide, and I will overcome evil with good. Say no, I will not fall for the entrapment of anger, and my wife and I will have an awesome weekend together. Say no, I will not bow to fear, but be Spirit-led and walk in love because Jesus gave you authority!

Prayer: Father, I glorify you! I boldly take up my authority in the name of Jesus Christ! Help me stand against all the plots and schemes of the wicked one and tread over them. I have the mind of Christ and I know who I am in Him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
