“As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby” 1 Peter 2:2, NKJV.
A newborn baby has a strong desire for milk from its’ mother. Each day that baby will crave it, fully aware of what they need. The baby was created that way, that by the mother’s milk, they may develop and grow.
God’s word is compared to being milk for us. You may be a grown man, but the constant need for God’s word will never change. You may know a lot about the things of God, but the constant need for God’s word will never change. The enemy will come after your crave and desire for it, especially in the toughest of times, but the word is the very thing you need that will keep you while you’re in it and get you through it.
Keep your desire to grow in Christ through the word. The good and the work that His word does within you cannot be replaced. It is milk to you, and it will always be how you stay solid and your faith strong.
Prayer: Father, there’s nothing like the milk of your word. Create in me a craving and desire for it like never before. Even today, help me keep my desire to grow by your word, even in my circumstance. Thank you, Jesus, for making me solid and my faith strong like you! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
