Learning to be calm in the storm.

“On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, ‘Let us cross over to the other side’…Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:35 & 39, NKJV.

As with the disciples, Jesus can be with you, but still, a storm may come. Yet, when the winds of life are raging, learn to be a man that’s calm in the storm. The disciples weren’t going to the other side based on outside conditions or the quality of the ship. They were going to the other side because of the word of Jesus. If you are in a storm right now, you will make it to the other side, not based on outside conditions, not your own or someone else’s ability. It is solely because God said it, and that is where you draw your faith, calmness, and joy from.

As you are calm, you will stand in faith and command peace in Jesus’ name. While others around you may be hollering, even in your home, you bring hope. A calm man gains control over something that appears out of control, declaring what God said the end will be.

Jesus is with you when all is well, and he is with you in the storm–be immovable and confident in both situations. Always tell yourself and your family we’re going to the other side!

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for being my calm in the storm. I receive the help to be a man of a calm spirit. I am going to the other side to victory because You said I would. I rebuke the storm in Jesus’ name, and I say peace be still! Help me have faith and allow the Holy Spirit to lead me to the other side. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
