I will be responsive to You.

“But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]” Galatians 5:16, Amplified.

If someone dropped a heavy box on your leg, you would have a natural response, possibly a delayed one also. You would feel pain and that it hurts. If someone told you a relative gave their life to the Lord, you would immediately respond with joy.

How responsive are you to the Holy Spirit? When He shows you something to do and says it’s time to move or turn in a specific direction in your life, it’s vital to be as responsive to His guidance as we can. He leads us away from sin and is always seeking to guide us into His perfect will for our lives. Sometimes, we can find ourselves outside the will of God, outside of His plan, because we’ve had a delayed response to what He told us to do.

Yet, God is faithful. As a merry-go-round, the Holy Spirit will keep bringing it back to your heart, back before your mind. As you get away from the noises and distractions of life and even of your own desires, I pray you see that it’s Him now. I believe His helping you be responsive today.

Prayer: Father, I praise you! Teach me to have an immediate response to you, Holy Spirit. Make it a lifestyle for me. Give me an ear to hear you, and I respond by allowing you to guide me. I submit to your will today. Lead the way Holy Spirit. as I draw close to you, I ask that you remind me of anything you already showed me and give me the grace to do it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
