“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” James 5:16, NKJV.
“Two are better than one…for if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, NKJV.
Sometimes it is hard for a man to open up and share his challenges or what he is going through inside. However, this moment of silence allows pride to create the downfall experience itself (see Proverbs 16:18).
A silent man will have no one to help him up or break his fall. We fall into sin, and now our relationship with God is suffering. We lost our home or just divorced. Our child moved out, unaware. We made an unwise financial decision, and now we can’t meet our basic needs. We’re fighting depression, yet, no one knew. With all that was surrounding us, no one knew. Instead of helping you conquer, all we can now do is console.
God desires to prevent your hardship and, at the same time, heal and reward your humble obedience to Him. Your confession will open the door to it. However, He can’t if we don’t share what we are going through. God will use someone to pray for you, share godly wisdom and help in your time of need.
Decide not to be a silent man. Whether it’s your Pastor, relative, or friend, someone should know.
Prayer: Father, I will not be a silent man. You have surrounded me with other brothers that will help me stand. I rebuke any fear of judgment and help me not walk in pride. My obedience to You will heal me, free me and reward me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
