“…But the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 1 Kings 19:11-13, NKJV.
God wasn’t in the earthquake or in the fire. He was in the still, small voice. Do you see where God is in your life?
As men, we can be living day to day, going through a repetition of life, yet not perceiving what God is up to. We could be in a situation but not see God in it. We can be dissatisfied with where we are in life and know there’s more He has for us and not see God in it. That’s when you take a step back from it all in prayer and look for God.
In the challenge, He’s there. In the dissatisfaction, the rocky road, the stagnant place, He’s in all of it. He is asking do you see Him? Do you hear His still small voice speaking to you about some decisions you need to make, some things you must take a step into? There is very well something deeper He’s bringing to pass in your life than you think, beyond the circumstance, beyond what you see. He’s moving, and He wants you to move with Him. He’s bringing a permanent change in your life you’ve been praying for, and He wants you to see it. Perceive it and walk by faith into His plans for you.
Prayer: Father, thank You! I needed this. Help me step back in prayer and see You in my life. You’re speaking and moving. Help me to discern what You are telling me and guide me forward into Your plans for me with faith. There’s more than what’s in my hands, and I desire to have what You have for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
