“Now godliness with contentment is great gain” 1 Timothy 6:6, NKJV.
The amplified version brings more insight into this verse and says, “But godliness actually is a source of great gain when accompanied by contentment [that contentment which comes from a sense of inner confidence based on the sufficiency of God].”
God’s will is contentment. No matter what place you find yourself in, no matter how much or how little you have at this very moment. He desires that you add contentment to your godliness. At that heart of contentment is the powerful truth that God is enough. Jesus is enough. His will is enough. Whatever God wants, whatever His timing is, whatever He has you assigned to and focused on now, we are content with that.
Prayer: Father, You are good. I praise You, and I am grateful for all You have done for me. You are enough. As I wait on You, what You have for me will be sweeter and better than I can ask for or imagine. Right where I am, I declare I trust You! Most of all, regardless of what Your will is for me, I receive it and I choose to always be content to know You, to have You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
