Called To Be Yourself

“So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off” 1 Samuel 17:38-39, NKJV.

David came to realize that he couldn’t use the armor that Saul used for his own fight. It fit Saul, but it didn’t fit him. David said I need to use what God has given me. I can only be myself.

You are called to be you. You are not ordained to be someone else. You are ordained to be you. As long as you try to be another man, like David, it won’t fit you. It won’t work for you. Use your own God-given gifts and talents, your own personality and your abilities, your own God-given way to make an impact for God.

Like David, be a man that is confident in how God made you. Be a man that will trust you have everything you need be great right where we are.

Prayer: Father, help me to be myself. You didn’t call me to be another man. You called me to be this man and I will be confident in who you created me to be. I am a great man how you made me and the gifts you’ve given me. I thank You for winning as I allow You to use me! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
