“Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the Lord” Psalm 4:5, NKJV.
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” Psalm 84:11, NKJV.
I use to be a car salesman and in my line of work, my pay was based on commission. I had to trust God to send me customers that were not only able to buy, but willing to also. Yet, even when He did, in the moment I still found myself having to rely on God.
I remember a customer who was a definite buyer, asked me a question that I didn’t know the answer to. I had a choice to make up something to get the sale, or to be honest, risking him not buying or wanting to work with another salesperson. I relied on God and I sincerely told him that I didn’t know the answer to that question, but I would definitely find out for him. He then told me to call my sales manager over. I had no idea what He was going to tell him, which could have easily been negative. Instead, He told my sales manager that while he was at another dealership, a salesperson lied to him. Yet, I was honest, and because on my honesty, we have a deal and he would buy a truck from me.
No matter your line of work or business, remain upright, trusting in the Lord. He knows your desire as a man to increase financially for your family. He knows your desire for promotion. However, you don’t have to compromise your light or your righteousness to get there. God is your Source and as you put your trust in Him, He will take care of you and bountifully reward you.
Prayer: Father, thank You that I can rely on You. No matter the kind of job I have, whether my business is small or nationwide, whether my church has a few members or many, I will trust You and walk uprightly. Help me to serve You Lord and never compromise witness. No matter what others do, I will be a light for Christ. I thank You for bountifully rewarding me because my ways please You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
