Called to Be Light

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” Matthew 5:16, NKJV.

The Lord spoke to me about going to visit the imprisoned to encourage them, especially in this season. He doesn’t want us to over-spiritualize what being a light is and making a difference in these times.

Be light in the darkness. Feed the hungry. Visit or write to the imprisoned who need to be encouraged during the holiday season. Pray with someone going through a difficult time. Give to those in need, even those who are daily medically helping people live.

We are salt, and we are light, having the ability to preserve in this pandemic. Be the light that you are. There’s no greater joy than to express Jesus through the good we do. As we allow our light to shine, people are given hope by the light that shines through us.

Prayer: Father, thank You. We are the light the world is looking for. So much is going on, but You still have overcome the darkness. Cause men to see our good works and glorify You. I make myself available to do good in whatever way You desire. May our hearts enlarge for those in need of You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

“The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined” – Isaiah 9:2
