“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” Hebrews 12:1, NKJV.
When you realize you’re the only one on your track, you’ll stop competing. You’ll cheer for others that are running their race. You’ll cheer on others that are winning their race. We may not be competing in our actions, which people can’t see, but we are competing in our hearts where God can see. It can hinder you from being your best you.
A competitive spirit is where envy and strife dwell. It is where jealousy and division take root. You won’t receive from someone you’re competing with, and God may desire to use the very person to bless your life.
Pray for a spirit of unity and carry it everywhere you go. Tell that spirit of competition to leave.
Prayer: Father, thank You for not only giving me my own race but also for helping me win it. I’m the only man on my track. As Your people, we don’t compete with each other. I pray for others and give them the strength to run hard for you. Help me to remain focused on what You are instructing me to do. Help me to carry unity and love to wherever I go. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
