“He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty…” Proverbs 16:32, KJV.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight” 2 Corinthians 5:7, KJV.
The slightest wind that blows tips us over quickly into anger. But the real question is what are you really angry about? What is the real reason why you are getting angry?
For me, I found myself snapping on my children at the slightest thing that they did. I had to come to face the hard truth that I dealt with regretting having the number of kids we have.
Then, God will take you deeper.
The truth is I wanted to have more time with my wife by now. The truth is I’m afraid I won’t complete what He is asking of me because of my children. Therefore, just as a school bus is in the driving lane and you have to drive slower, so is with having kids and I’m having to have faith that God is still going to get me there.
If we’re truthful, we’re angry about the things that we’ve done, done to you or the decisions you’ve made that you can’t change. You have some regrets. We walk by faith and not by sight. When we walk by faith, we won’t walk in anger. Walk by faith about it, and receive that God is still going to fix it. He’s still going to bless your life. He’s still going to work it out–and let the anger go.
Prayer: Father, thank You for dealing with me about being angry. It’s okay to get angry, but when I walk in it, something’s wrong in me. Help me to hear from You. I choose to walk by faith about it and not by sight. By the power of Your Spirit, I let the anger go. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
