“Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good….And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done” Genesis 1:31-2:2, NKJV.
God worked for six days when He created the heavens and the earth, and then He said it was very good. As a man, no matter what you are in pursuit of, before you can say it is very good, you’ve got to put in the work too.
As much as God desires to bless your life, as much as you desire to fulfill for your own life, the man you know you can become is not just going to happen. You are going to have to roll up your sleeves and work. Just as with using tools, you have to take what you’ve been given and build. It won’t be easy and it won’t come overnight. Yet, when you put in the work and seek God, when you invest into studying the word, when you use the God-given talents and gifts that God has graciously given you, when God is finished with you, you’ll look at yourself and say very good.
From one man to another, potential and good intentions are good, but they won’t change your life. You and I are going to have to put in the work. By His grace, you will do it.
Prayer: Father, this is so true. I want to be all You’ve called me to be, but You won’t do it all. Help me to be a man that puts in the work. I ask for discipline and life-changing diligence. As I step in faith, I declare I receive an abundance of grace to do it. I thank You that when You are done with me, I will say very good. Thank You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
