“He said, “Throw the net off the right side of the boat and see what happens.” John 21:6, The Message Bible.

Jesus called out to them, asking if they had any fish, and upon hearing their reply, instructed them to cast the nets to the other side of the boat. After they had done this, the net was so full of fish that they couldn’t even drag it onto the boat. They had to drag the net full of fish ashore. Research says there were 153 large fish in the net, and even though the weight was great, the net didn’t break.

This story is a perfect illustration for us in the instruction of evangelism. God wishes to empower you by His Word, to strengthen you (the net), so you may bring forth a great catch for Christ. If you just abide in Christ every single day, even if only for a short time, you are strengthening yourself for this cause. Your Creator is blessing you to be a blessing to others. You might be the only bible someone will read today. God is seeking to change the world through you. Just like the disciples’ net, you will be unbreakable and unstoppable in this pursuit.

I challenge you today to deny yourself (Matt 16:24) and ask the Holy Spirit to help you reach out to someone in need of Him. Help them go in the right direction. Be God-centered and make it all about Jesus and love. The greatest and deepest miracle of all–the miracle of bringing someone to Christ.

Prayer: Father, I give You praise. So many are in need of You. My only desire is to see Your name be lifted up and for others to know the Good News of Jesus Christ. Give me bold love. Some plant and some water, but You provide the increase. Use me to help someone in an exciting way today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
