The journey’s too long, eat.

“Then the angel of the LORD came again a second time and touched him and said, “Get up, and eat, for the journey is too long for you [without adequate sustenance]”” 1 Kings 19:7, Amplified.

Just like God told the prophet Elijah, so He says today. The journey’s too long, my brother, and the pressure all around you is too great. Where you’re going, you will need to eat. Just like you eat naturally, God wants you to eat spiritually. In this hour you’re going to need to be strong. You’re going to need to know who you are and have something to stand on. You’re going to need something to combat all of the fiery darts of the wicked one. You’re going to need to love when you’re tempted to not love. The journey is too long and at this juncture, you need the word. Jesus said, His words, they are Spirit and they are life. You’re going to need His word.

Prayer: Father, thank you for the word. I give you all of the praise, honor, and glory. Thank you for speaking to me today. Help me understand more and more that this journey is too long especially in these last days. I can’t afford to not receive and meditate on your word. I can’t not to eat. The journey is too long. I’m going very high in you, doing great things for you, going into the gates of hell to rescue those in need. I must eat of your word. While people are being tempted to not love, I’ve got to love in this hour. You say, great peace have they who love your law and nothing shall offend them. Thank you, Father. I set myself to eat of your word. Help me be the man you’re wanting me to be in this hour. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
