“And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.” But Naaman became furious…Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage. And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.” 2 Kings 5:10-14, NKJV.
Naaman almost missed his blessing because He wanted to be healed his way, instead of how the Lord wanted to bring about his healing. His desire was for clean skin, but God’s desire was to give him a clean heart also. God said Jordan. Naaman said Damascus. It didn’t make sense to Naaman, but it made perfect sense to God.
You’ve asked of God and He has answered you. It doesn’t make sense. Yet, your obedience is what will bring your real desires to pass. Be encouraged as the Lord meets you at this juncture in your life when you have to let go, even be broken before Him, and follow Him. Naaman had to humble himself to the will of the Father, and so will you.
Prayer: Father, You are Lord, and I give You all the praise. Thank You for Your mighty word. Thank You for the times You meet me in life when it doesn’t make sense to me, but there’s a work You are doing in my heart. I trust you. Help me not to hold on to my way and think I know better than You do. Through Christ, I humble myself and will do it Your way. I pray that you help my brothers to obey you, even when it doesn’t make sense. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

There is a blessing to receive even when it don’t make sense. God’s desire was to give him a clean heart. Be obedient.
