“I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35, NKJV.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” Matthew 5:16 NKJV
The devil would rather you pursue a blessing than become one. He would rather you focus on receiving than giving. It is dangerous to him when you become a blessing because you begin to make God known in the earth. It’s when the Lord makes you the very answer to someone’s prayer. You make the love of Jesus real to someone, seen and felt by someone, as you become what he gives away.
We are living in times where the Lord strongly desires for us to listen for His voice, and obey the Holy Spirit when He says become a blessing. Expect from Him the unexpected, because in an instant you could meet someone and He says yield to My goodness and bless them.
One day, my wife and I were selling our kids’ bunk bed without the mattresses on Facebook. The mattresses were old and we bought new beds. A grandmother responded to the ad and was very interested in buying it for her two grandchildren who lived with her. She and some family members came over, and not even a minute after meeting them, God told me don’t sell it to them, give it to them, and tell her it’s a blessing from Him. I shared it with my wife, and when she told the lady, tears began to well up in her eyes. The reason is that we didn’t know was she did not have the money to buy the mattresses, but now she can.
God had greatly blessed us with something that day, but honestly, what we did for that family was without question the highlight of our day. It was far, far better and brought us far more joy giving than receiving. It felt so good to not receive a blessing but become one.
Prayer: Wow, thank you, Lord! You have been good to me. I ask You to be good through me in these times. Make me a blessing! Make me an answer to someone’s prayer. Help me to be sensitive to you Holy Spirit in this area, and make this man a great blessing in someone’s life today. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
