“But by the [remarkable] grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not without effect. In fact, I worked harder than all of the apostles, though it was not I, but the grace of God [His unmerited favor and blessing which was] with me” 1 Corinthians 15:10, Amplified.
I remember when I had oral surgery to remove my wisdom teeth, and it went very well. It went so well, I wasn’t feeling any pain. It went so well, I said to myself these first few days have been easy, and it seemed I had an uncommon, speedy recovery process. But on the third day, I messed up and didn’t take my medication on time. I began to feel some real pain and discomfort, and I realized at that very moment that it wasn’t that there wasn’t any pain from the surgery, but it was the medication keeping me all along.
This is how God’s grace is in your life. The goodness that abounds toward you, doors that seem to open, the strength you walk in, what you’ve made it through, He’s kept you through, and things that worked out on your behalf you can’t explain, it’s His remarkable grace. All through the years, it’s been God’s divine hand of unmerited (unearned) favor and blessing on your life. Moment by moment, the grace of God rests on you because of Jesus Christ.
Be reminded to never take it for granted and be thankful. You came this far, you are who you are because of His grace, and this same grace is going to bring you through again.
Prayer: Father, if it weren’t for Your grace, where would be. Thank You for all the unmerited favor and blessings You richly provide this man each day. Thank You for keeping me, even when I didn’t realize it. Your grace is abounding toward me, and I have to sincerely say thank You! Your grace brought me this far, and it’s going to bring me through again. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
