“You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.” And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”” Genesis 41:40-41 NKJV.
When I went on a trip to San Diego, the first night there I was led to stay in a hostel. I was in a one room dormitory with grown men snoring at night, running the air conditioner at 64 degrees, shared spaces, refrigerator and a shared restroom. I didn’t enjoy seeing that people live like this, yet I understood that this is what they could afford and it was their provision from God. At least they had a somewhere to lay their heads. God used me to share Jesus while there. I went from staying in a hostel to staying in a beautiful hotel by the bay for the remainder of my days there.
I don’t know where you are, whatever situation you’re facing, but perspective is everything. It could be worse. You may not want it to be, or fight regret that it shouldn’t be, but the truth is it could be worse because for someone, it is. Consider it not a stumbling block, but a stepping stone. Consider it a juncture in your life. Joseph obeyed God where he was and the Lord took him from a pit to a palace. From a prisoner to second in command to Pharaoh. From brokenness to healing with his family. Like Joseph, obey God in your moment. Help someone where you are. God will divinely rescue you. I believe soon God is going to take you from one place to another.
Prayer: Father, I give you all the glory. Thank you for helping me see this situation I’m facing right. I’m reminded it could be worse because for someone else it is. Bless them, Father and me too. Take us all from one place to another. Give me the courage to obey you. I praise you for it now and I will live abundantly right where I am today. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
