“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” Hebrews 12:2, NKJV.
Jesus always set His joy before Him. Throughout His whole life, He would mention the cross, but He talked a whole lot more about what was on the other side of the cross. There was a joy, a reward, and a redemption for us that was so abundantly good, that it helped Him endure.
It may seem hard sometimes and thoughts do come, but like a foundation is set for a building that’s about rise, set the joy before you and let it rise and bless you. Speak only life and declare what the Lord said He will do in your life. Tell your wife “We’re going somewhere great!” Make plans for it, and see yourself already there on the inside. Whatever the Father has spoken, set the joy of it before you. It will shift your focus and help you remember every bountiful reason you have to endure!
Prayer: Father, I praise and glorify you. You’ve given me a joy and I set it before me. With the power of life in my tongue, I say you are a Rewarder and it’s going to be abundantly good! Allow your word and this joy to affect what I think about and help me endure. I thank you. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
