“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed” Proverbs 31:25-28, ESV.
Virtuous. Loving. Beautiful. Sacrificing. Patient. Kind. Full of grace. Strong.
So valuable. There are so many words that describe how much a mother means. Yet, I have found the love of a mother to be beyond what a man can describe. She is beyond words.
I cannot describe how I felt when we didn’t have a lot, my mother made sure I ate before she did. When I see my wife’s ability to say the right words to our children to navigate them through a difficult time. To feel where her kids are in life and what they need. It’s beyond words the love that a mother gives to her children that only can come from someone that birthed them. It’s beyond words how a grandmother 5 feet tall can tell a 6 feet grown son to straighten up, and he only says yes ma’am. How in spite of what she goes through, a mother is able to stand strong, even as a single mom. It’s beyond words the sound a mother’s cry to the Lord for her child and He hears her.
She’s been there for you. She’s the one praying you through. May you show your mother just how much she is honored and appreciated. Tell her how grateful you are to God to have, and if she’s no longer here, to have had her in your life. We honor and appreciate her with you. She is wonderful. Tell your mom she’s beyond words today.
Prayer: Father, thank you for blessing me with a mom that’s beyond words. She exemplifies your kind of love to me. I pray you make mine and so many wives and mothers feel an outpouring of appreciation today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
